Delayed Luggage

Provided as an extension to the travel insurance policy, normally within the personal luggage and money section of the cover, delayed luggage travel insurance is useful in that it will compensate you if you are temporarily deprived of your luggage on the outward leg of your journey for a period of 12 hours or more. The cover provided is not designed to actually replace lost items, but is beneficial in buying emergency items such as toiletries and a clean change of underwear. World First travel insurance includes £100 cover for delayed luggage as part of its personal luggage and money travel insurance cover.

If you do find that your luggage is delayed or misdirected in delivery, you should keep receipts for any items that you do buy whilst you are waiting for your luggage. You can then claim those expenses back from your travel insurance company when you return to the UK from your holiday.
