Legal expenses travel insurance cover includes the use of a 24-hour emergency helpline to obtain practical advise on any legal problem in connection with your journey insured by your travel insurance policy. This cover is also normally available for up to 7 days following your return form a holiday too.

The travel insurance company include legal expenses cover within the insurance policy to seek and obtain indemnity for you from a third party following accidental personal injury to you and will also cover the total cost for necessary legal fees, medical examinations and other costs to support your action.

Like all other sections of your travel insurance policy, you must bear in mind that there will be a limit on the total amount covered by the legal expenses section of the travel insurance policy, which could for example be limited to £25,000.

In a similar way that the personal liability travel insurance section of an insurance policy will not cover claims arising from certain activities, there are similar exclusions within the legal expenses section too.
