Travel Insurance For Sports Holidays

If you are planning a sporting holiday and looking forward to something a little more adventurous, then make sure having the wrong travel insurance does not catch you out. Sporting holidays require sporting travel insurance so that you can be sure all of your activities will be fully covered, especially if you are into action sports or what might be considered hazardous activities.

World First offer travel insurance that covers over 75 hazardous sports and activities automatically, with upgrade options for others such as winter sports including skiing and snowboarding. If you are going to be riding on a banana boat, kite surfing, windsurfing or wakeboarding to name just a few sports, then it’s always best to specifically ask if your travel insurance covers you?

Generally, most travel insurance policies will not cover you if you are using any ropes or guides, competing, flying (unless in a passenger aircraft), or using any form of mechanically propelled vehicle other than a car during your holiday. A full list of activities that are covered should normally be available from your sports travel insurance provider. And if you obtain a copy of the Insurance Certificate, then you will find the activities that are not covered will usually be listed within the General Exclusions of the travel insurance policy.

The best advice when looking for sporting travel insurance is to ask if you will be covered for the sports and activities of your choice.
